About me

As an artist...

Santacruz has inked over 11 thousand people in his 12 year tattoo artist career thus far, he sees a client & designs based on their persona, aura, body aesthetic, wants & also their needs. 

He can see the tattoo art way before it even starts.

Steve is mostly a black and grey artist but does not shy away from any challenges that may arise, he had tattooed every design under the sun. From his own words… “I tattoo to release your warrior spirit.”  You must be ready. 

A bit of his life...

As a child in Colombia, Steve spent most of his time drawing & wondering about the nature of animals. His teenage and young adult years were spent in New York City where he learned the reality of the streets, gang life & rebellion amongst other things. At 15 he got his first tattoo art  in a second story somewhere in Queens, NY.

During that period he also learned the value of entrepreneurship, from buying and selling street apparel in school to fixing & selling used cars as a side job with his father. The art and entrepreneur side have always been intertwined within his being.

In 2007 Santacruz brought his talents & fast paced way of life to Miami where he now resides.

Steve Santacruz is the founder & CEO of Empire Ink. 

A tattoo Company with multiple locations in the Miami area, he currently has a team of 30 members & his vision is to expand his brand to the world's top destinations so everyone can have a piece of the Empire Ink experience.
